According to modern American culture, one of the best things we can be is independent. We’re applauded for our self-reliance. Even Scripture has been misinterpreted to say that God never gives us more than we can handle on our own. But what does the Bible really say?

We were created to rely on God. Our shoulders were never meant to be broad enough to carry the weight of the world. So, God comes alongside us, and we rely on Him to help carry our burdens. We fail and fall short on our own, but we have a good and gracious God who always gives us what we need to keep going. All we have to do is seek Him and ask.

This study invites us to walk deeper into a trusting relationship with God as we see that our reliance on Him leads us to things that are better and more complete than anything we could accomplish on our own. Our resources will always be limited when we try to do things on our own. But our God is limitless.
